Asia Development Foundation·Cobi Group create a fund in Korean International School of Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, for the promotion of GloNaCal talent
'Nurturing future talent by supporting the one bridging Korea and Vietnam'
Asia Development Foundation(President KIM Joon-il, ADF) and COBI Group(Chairman KIM Joon-il, COBI) create a scholarship fund for the promotion of GloNaCal talent in the Korean International School(President SHIN Sun-ho, KIS) of Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.
ADF-COBI Scholarship will be established with $500,000 in total, $300,000 from ADF and $200,000 from COBI, after signing the Memorandum of Understanding among three organizations - ADF, COBI, and KIS – at the opening ceremony of ‘Banyan Tree Hall,’ the hall of fame in KIS on November 5th.
ADF-COBI Scholarship will be provided to the students of KIS from a new semester in 2020. Nowadays, the number of students of KIS has been increasing because of expanding interchange cooperation in various fields between Korea and Vietnam and a growing number of Korean firms in Vietnam. In the situation, The Scholarship will be first delivered to the students who are from Korean-Vietnamese families in the financial difficulty.
ADF currently supports ’Bilingual class’, which helps the multicultural-based children to understand the language and culture of their mother’s country, ’Gift For Motherland’ program, which provides a 4-year scholarship to the students who want to study in their mother’s country, and ‘ADF Elite Scholarship Program’ offering the talented Southeast Asian university students full scholarships. Therefore, talented global citizens will be cultivated who can liaise between Korea and Southeast Asia in the future.
In addition to the above, ADF has also continuously supported various programs in the fields of medical care and cultural exchanges, to further strengthen the relationship between Korea and the Southeast Asian countries.
All efforts made by ADF is attributed to the principle of the Foundation and its president, KIM Joon-il, who puts a strong emphasis on retaining the special relationship among Asian countries.
KIM Joon-il, President of ADF and also Chairman of COBI, mentioned that he hopes the students of KIS would grow the futural ‘Bridge talents’ who can leap to the world with the specialties of both countries’ languages, history, and culture.
SHIN Sun-ho, President of KIS, said that the students from Korean-Vietnamese families need to be aware of their own identity and dream to develop themselves as the ‘GloNaCal talents’ and appreciate the support for the students that they can continue moving towards their dreams.
Founded in 2016, with a value statement of ‘Great Asia!’, ADF dreams of growing together with the Asian countries by spreading the positive power of Asian culture through the value of cooperation, exchange, and coexistence.

아시아발전재단·cobi 그룹 글로네이컬이 인재 육성을 위한 베트남호치민시한국국제학교 내 기금 조성
'한·베 브릿지(Bridge) 인재 지원으로 미래 인재 육성'
아시아발전재단(이사장 김준일, ADF)과 COBI그룹(회장 김준일, COBI)이 베트남 호치민시한국국제학교(교장 신선호, KIS)에 글로네이컬(GloNaCal) 미래인재 육성을 위한 장학기금을 조성한다.
호치민시한국국제학교 ‘반얀트리홀(명예의 전당)’ 제막식(11월 5일 (화) 현지시간 14시)에 부쳐 3개 기관은 업무협약을 맺고 아시아발전재단 30만 불, COBI그룹 20만 불, 총 50만 불 규모의 장학기금을 조성, 아시아발전재단-코비장학금(ADF-COBI Scholarship)을 신설한다.
아시아발전재단-코비장학금(ADF-COBI Scholarship)은 호치민시한국국제학교(이하 KIS) 학생들에게 2020년 신학기부터 지원될 예정이다.
근래 한국과 베트남 간 경제 분야를 포함한 다양한 분야에서의 교류 협력의 증가는 한국기업의 증가로 이어져 KIS 재학생의 증가를 가져왔다.
이에 본 장학금은 KIS 재학생에게 지원될 것이며, 특히 일부 경제적 어려움을 겪는 한·베 가정 학생들에게 우선 지원된다.
아시아발전재단 이사장이자 코비그룹의 회장인 김준일 이사장은 한국과 베트남의 교류가 확대되는 가운데 호치민시한국국제학교 학생들이 양국의 언어, 역사, 문화에 대한 전문성을 갖추고 세계를 향해 도약할 수 있는 미래형 브릿지(Bridge)인재로 성장했으면 한다고 소감을 전했다.
호치민시한국국제학교 신선호 교장은 한·베가정 학생들이 글로네이컬 인재로 성장하기 위해서는 정체성에 대한 명확한 인식과 함께 꿈을 품고 미래를 향해 나아가야 한다며, 아시아발전재단-코비장학금(ADF-COBI Scholarship)은 학생들의 미래를 위한 꿈에 날개를 달아주는 것이라며 감사의 말을 전했다.
아시아발전재단은 KIS 기금조성을 위한 업무협약을 마친 후 11월 6일(수) 하노이국가대 ‘ADF Elite 장학금’ 수여식도 진행할 예정이며, 전년도 장학생을 포함한 총 20명에게 4만 불의 장학금을 지원한다고 밝혔다.
‘ADF Elite Scholarship’은 미래 한·아시아 간 우호 협력을 준비하는 사업의 일환으로 베트남, 캄보디아, 네팔 등 아시아 국가의 우수 인재에게 4년간 장학금을 지원하는 프로그램이다.
이 밖에도 아시아발전재단은 다문화 가정 자녀의 어머니 나라에 대한 언어, 문화적 이해를 돕는 ‘이중언어교실’ 지원, 어머니 나라 대학에서 수학을 원할 경우, 4년간 장학금을 지원하는 ‘Gift For Motherland’ 사업 등을 통해 한국과 아시아 국가 양국을 잇는 글로벌 인재육성을 지원하고 있다.
다시, 아시아로! 라는 기치 아래 2016년 설립된 아시아발전재단은 아시아 문화가 지닌 긍정적인 가치를 확산함으로써 협력하고 교류하며, 상생하는 가치를 통해 아시아 국가들이 함께 성장하는 미래를 꿈꾸고 있다.
