To create a peace and harmony of mankind through the martial arts which World martial arts masterships aims at , the international organization establishment is with expectation for the world martial promotions, The world martial arts masterships committee is going to be founded to govern the world martial arts masterships as International Olympic Committee (IOC) governs the Olympic games .

A general meeting of the world Martial arts committee(WMC), Organizing being held in the meeting room at the Chungcheongbuk-do provincial on 12thJuly.

The 9 Korean committee members are the Governor Lee Sijong, the mayors of Cheongju and Chungju cities an others whom concern to the provincial, academia and martial arts etc. being selected. As to the Committee Chairman, the governor Lee Sijong being elected.

This committee is under the purpose of globalization and communication & convergence through the martial arts, and expect to dedicate to the world peace and International friendship through world martial Arts masterhip sports by exclusive negotiation right to the National Martial Arts Masterships committee of each nation.

WMC will be consists of International Federation representative, NMC representative , the scholar & experts of martial arts delegates, and individuals who makes contributions to the martial arts development with recommendation from executives committee. All these members are intends to be selected for about 30 or more in the general meeting of WMC on 2ndSeptember in Cheongju.

Taking the chance of the establishment of WMC, a continuous opening of world martial arts masterships festival for world martial artists can be secured. The participants being nominated as committee members includes the major leaders of official sports of international federations and International sports world whom are in a great expectation of WMC sports supporting in the future.

Former President Mr. Sosa from Honduras, President of IFMA Muaythai Mr. Sakchye, a former Olympic Committee of Thailand,

President Khan, UNESCO TSG Director, from IBWA Belt Wrestling, President Shestakov, Russia congressman, from FIAS Sambo, Sports director of the Olympic Council of Asia President Farman from IKA Kurash and Chairman Fox from Sport Accord AIMS were being recommended as the first board members.

The main projects of WMC :

UNESCO ‘International Centre of martial arts (ICM)’, an organization established in Chungju, being expected to have an impact as well. WMC will play its role through a business connection with the head quater of “International martial arts center” by its network of International martial arts world.

Mr. Lee Sijong. the Governor of Cghungcheongbuk-do province & the first Chairman of WMC says: “The establishment of World Martial Arts Mastership Committee is the fruits of efforts in promotion of martial arts through formulating traditional martial arts promotion Act, Chungju world martial arts festival, World martial arts Federation and International Martial arts center etc.“ and ” It would enable the martial artists to realize their responsibilities in providing the rights to the World people to enjoy the martial arts.“ he said .

In the meanwhile, the WMC will stands as a control tower since this world martial arts masterships after all the establishment procedure in coming July. As a beginning business, the hosting venue selection for the 2ndmasterships and sports items will be settled in the general meeting in coming September. We expect the world martial arts masterships enable growth to a global human festival and to a business for world martial arts development by formulating the basic plans of 2ndmasterships and signing the service agreement with IOC, International sports organization and with Sport Accord etc. after the 1stMasterships by all means.

세계무예계와 마스터십 구심점 역할

오는 9월 총회에서 국제스포츠계 영향역있는 명사들 위원 위촉 예정

세계무예마스터십이 지향하는 무예를 통한 인류의 평화와 화합을 조성하고 세계무예진흥을 위한 국제기구설립에 박차를 가하고 있다. 올림픽경기를 관장하는 국제올림픽위원회(IOC)와 같이 세계무예마스터십을 관장하는 세계무예마스터십위원회(WMC)가 설립된다.

12일 충북도청 소회의실에서 개최된 세계무예마스터십위원회(World Martial arts Mastership Committee, WMC)창립을 위한 발기인 총회가 개최되었다.

이 자리에서는 국내 WMC위원으로 이시종 충북도지사를 비롯해 당연직으로 청주시장, 충주시장, 그리고 충북도 관계자, 학계, 무예계 등 9명이 위원으로 선출되었으며, 위원장에는 이시종 도지사가 선출되었다.

이 위원회는 무예를 통한 세계화와 소통 및 융합을 목적으로 하고 있으며, 각국의 무예마스터십위원회(National Martial Arts Mastership Committee, NMC)의 독점적 교섭권을 갖으며 세계무예마스터십운동을 통하여 국제친선과 세계평화에 기여할 예정이다.

WMC는 국제무예단체(IF) 대표, NMC의 대표, 무예를 대표하는 학자 및 전문가, 무예진흥을 위해 공헌한 자격을 갖춘 개인자격으로 집행위원회에서 추천하는 위원으로 구성된다. 이 위원들은 오는 9월 2일 청주에서 개최되는 WMC총회에서 약 30여명이 선정될 예정이다.

WMC 설립을 계기로 세계무예인의 축제인 세계무예마스터십의 지속적인 개최를 보장할 것으로 보인다. 오는 9월 총회에서 지명될 위원들중에는 오는 9월 개최되는 2016청주세계무예마스터십 정식종목의 국제연맹 대표와 국제스포츠계의 거물급들이 대거 포함되어 있어 앞으로 WMC운동에 활력을 얻을 것으로 기대된다. 초대 위원으로는 온두라스의 Sosa 전대통령, 태국의 올림픽위원회 위원장 출신인 무에타이 IFMA의 Sakchye 회장, 유네스코 TSG디렉터인 벨트레슬링 IBWA의 Khan회장, 러시아 하원 의원인 삼보FIAS의 Shestakov회장, 아시아올림픽평의회 스포츠디렉터인 크라쉬IKA의 Farman 회장, SportAccord AIMS의 Fox위원장 등이 추천되었다.

WMC의 주요사업으로는

▶세계무예마스터십 개최와 각국 및 대륙별 무예마스터십 개최 지원

▶무예진흥 및 무예마스터십운동의 발전을 도모하고 세계무예마스터십 표장관리

▶금지약물 사용의 금지활동

▶세계무예마스터십운동 홍보사업

▶세계무예마스터십 개최국 선거의 개최국가 지명권

▶세계 무예행정가 연수 및 관련 프로그램 운영

▶무예진흥 및 무예마스터십의 교육 및 연구사업 등이다.

충주에 설립되는 유네스코기구인 ‘국제무예센터(ICM)’에도 WMC는 영향을 줄 것으로 기대하고 있다. WMC가 국제무예계의 네트워크를 통해 국제무예본부인 국제무예센터와 업무관계를 통해 큰 역할을 할 것으로 보고 있다.

WMC 초대 위원장으로 선임된 이시종 충북도지사는 “세계무예마스터십위원회의 창립은 전통무예진흥법, 충주세계무술축제, 세계무술연맹, 국제무예센터 등 그간 대한민국 충청북도가 진행해 온 무예진흥을 위한 노력의 결실이다”고 말하면서, “전 세계 인류에게 무예를 향유할 수 있는 권리를 제공하는 무예인으로서의 책무를 실현하는 계기를 마련한계기가 될 것”이라고 설립취지문을 밝혔다.

한편, WMC는 오는 7월 모든 법인설립 절차를 마치고 이번 세계무예마스터십부터 컨트럴 타워역할을 하게 된다. 우선 제2회 대회 개최지 후보지 선정과 정식종목채택에 대한 업무를 시작으로 오는 9월 총회에서 개최지 및 종목을 결정하게 된다. 제1회 대회 개최이후 제2회 대회의 기본계획수립과 국제스포츠기구인 IOC와 SportAccord 등과의 업무협약을 추진함으로써 세계무예마스터십이 지구촌 인류축제로 성장하고 세계무예진흥을 위한 사업을 전개할 예정이다.
