Historical opening of world youth martial arts' grand festival!
'The 1st Jincheon World Youth Martial Arts Matership' was opened with the fanfare at Chungcheongbuk-do Province Jincheon County on 3rd November.
On 3rd November, the 1st Jincheon World Youth Martial Arts Mastership Competition(Hapkido, Muaythai, Kurash, Yongmudo, Martial Arts Show·Record Contest)was began with the slogan of 'Harmony of World Martial Arts'. Which is co-hosted by Chungchongduk-do Province(governor, Mr,Lee si-jong), Jincheon-County(supervisor, Mr,Song Gi-Sub)and World Martial Arts Mastership Committee(WMC) and sponsored by .Korean Sports Committee.
The competition includes 4formal events and 2special events and 826 teams from 33countries are participating. The participants are competing for 91 gold medals, with their polished skills.
The formal event was began with the opening ceremony of the 1st Jincheon World Youth Martial Arts Mastership at Jincheon-County Whalang Gym, to begin with the performance of North Korea performance with Taekkyeon, follwed by the performance of Korean traditional music band, which shows traditional culture of Korea.
Many domestic and overseas important people have participated to opening ceremony, such as Chungcheongbuk-do governor Mr,Lee si-jong, chairman of WMC, Jincheon supervisor Mr,, the host of competition, vice president of sportsaccord, Mr,Stephan Fox, Member of national assembly, Mr,Keong dae-su Mr.Oh jae-se, member of national assembly, Chairman Jincheon Mr,Ahn Jae-duk, Superintendent Mr,Kim Byung-woo and etc.
The formal events went on about 30minutes with the opening declaration by Mr,Ahn jae-duk Jincheon military honor guard, followed by the welcoming speech by Mr,Song Gi-Sub Jincheon supervisor, opening address by Lee si-jong Chungcheong-do Province governor and congratulatory addresses by other important people.
After those speeches, there were performance by Jincheon children's choir, performance of martial arts discipline and the demonstrations of martial arts events by Park, Hee-lyang team, which is the champion team of martial arts discipline at Cheongju World Martial Arts Mastership, last year. There were youth dance performance as well, and also there were congratulatory performance of K-pop concert, by girl-group Eideyli and popular boy-group Baikal.
In addition, on 4th, after the opening, there were Unesco Youth Martial Arts Forum which was held at ICM(International Martial Arts Center) and subject lectures by Unesco Bangkok Youth Sports professional consultant Caroline Baxter(Australia), IFMA Social Resposibility chairperson, Maya Amro(Lebanon) and the executive Mr,Gong sung-bae of Korea Yongmudo Association. Through this forum, teenagers could learn the value of martial arts through martial arts educations.
On 4th of November, at Jincheon HwaLang Gymnasium, the competition of record competition, which is to test limit of the abilities, was held by demonstrating the martial arts skills such as High &b Long Jump Fall, High &b Long Jump Kick, Breaking with music. And on next day, 5th of November, Hapkido events was held which regards spirit, the essence of the orient martial arts culture. Also, on 6th of November, Yongmudo competition was held which was developed by the Yongin University martial arts Department, and adopted as national sport of Indonesia.
At gym of Woosuk University, Jincheon Campus, Muay Thai, the traditional martial arts of Thailand, competition was held for two days, from 4th of November to 5th of November. And on 6th of November to 7th of November, there was competition of Kurash, which is the traditional martial arts of Uzbekistan and also adopted as the events of Jakarta Asian Game, 2018.
The closing ceremony, on 7th of November, which represents the end of the 5days of competition, will be the festival where all the participants can be one together.
Meanwhile, this Jincheon World Youth Martial Arts Mastership Competition has the meaning of, WMC as the international organization, just like the IOC Olympic has the Youth Olympic and FIFA has the youth game.
Last year on September, WMC held the 1st Cheongju World Martial Arts Mastership Competition to make Chungcheonbuk-do Province Cheongju City as the place of World Martial Arts Culture and at the same time by the foundation of World Martial Olympic, to make it as dual- welled with the Olympics.
‘제1회 진천세계청소년무예마스터십’ 충북 진천서 팡파르
3일 ‘세계 무예의 조화’란 슬로건을 가지고 충청북도(도지사, 이시종)와 진천군(군수 송기섭), 세계무예마스터십위원회(WMC)가 공동주최하고 대한체육회가 후원하는 제1회 진천세계청소년무예마스터십 대회(무에타이, 합기도 크라쉬, 용무도, 연무·기록경기)가 개막되었다.
이번 대회는 4개 정식 종목과 2개 특별 종목에서 33개국 826명의 선수단이 참가, 91개의 금메달을 놓고 그동안 갈고 닦은 기량을 겨룬다.
정식종목은 크라쉬와 합기도 각 10체급, 용무도 12개 체급, 무예타이 17개 체급, 특별종목은 연무경기 18개 체급과 기록경기 24개 체급이 각각 펼쳐진다.
제1회 진천세계청소년무예마스터십의 개막식은 3일 진천 화랑관에서 대북 공연과 어우러진 택견 퍼포먼스로 시작되어 우리나라의 전통 문화를 보여준 취타대 공연으로 개막식의 열기를 더하며 공식행사가 진행되었다.
개막식에는 세계무예마스터십위원회 위원장인 이시종 충북도지사, 대회장인 송기섭 진천군수와 스포츠어코드 스테판 팍스 부회장, 경대수 국회의원, 오제세 국회의원, 안재덕 진천군의장, 김병우 교육감 등 국내·외 주요 인사들이 대거 참석했다.
안재덕 진천군의장의 개회선언으로 송기섭 진천군수의 환영사와 이시종 충청북도지사의 개회사가 이어지고, 주요인사의 축사로 약 30분에 걸친 공식행사가 진행되었다.
식후행사로 진천 어린이합창단의 공연, 지난해 청주세계무예마스터십 연무우승팀인 박희량 팀에서 연무공연과 무예종목 시연, 청소년 댄스 공연이 이어졌다. K-pop 콘서트에서는 상큼한 4인조 걸그룹 에이데일리와 최근 앨범을 발표한 인기 남성그룹 바이칼의 축하공연도 이어졌다.
또한, 개막 후 4일에는 국제무예센터(ICM)에서 진행하는 유네스코 청소년 무예포럼에 유네스코 방콕 청소년스포츠 전문컨설턴트 캐롤라인 벡스터(호주)와 IFMA 사회적 책임위원장 메이아 아므로(레바논), 대한용무도협회 공성배 전무이사의 주제강연이 이어져 무예교육을 통한 무예의 가치를 청소년들에게 전하게 된다.
11월 4일, 진천화랑관에서는 음악에 맞춰 무예기술을 시연하는 낙법, 차기, 격파 능력의 한계를 시험하는 기록경기가 실시되고, 다음날인 5일에는 동양무예 문화의 정수인 기(氣)를 중요시하는 합기도 종목이 진행된다. 11월 6일 용인대 무도대학에서 개발하고, 인도네시아 국기로 채택된 용무도 경기가 열릴 예정이다.
우석대학교 진천캠퍼스 체육관에서는 태국의 전통무예 무에타이가 11월 4일부터 5일까지 2일간 열리며, 우즈베키스탄 전통무예로 2018 자카르타 아시안게임의 종목으로 채택된 크라쉬 경기가 11월 6일부터 7일까지 실시된다.
5일간의 대회 일정을 모두 마무리되는 11월 7일 폐막식은 이번 대회에 참가한 선수단 모두가 하나로 어우러지는 한마당 축제로 치러질 예정이다.
한편, 이번 진천세계청소년무예마스터십 대회는 세계무예마스터십위원회가 IOC 올림픽에 유스올림픽이 있고 FIFA에 청소년대회가 있듯이 국제적인 기구로서 그와 맥락을 같이 하는 대회다.
작년 9월 세계 무예문화의 성지로 도약하는 충청북도 청주를 전 세계에 부각하고 올림픽과 쌍벽을 이루는 세계무예올림픽의 창시로 세계 무예가 하나 되는 세계무예마스터십위원회(WMC)주최한 1회 청주세계무예마스터십 대회를 개최한 바 있다.
