Opening of the 12th World Taekwondo Culture Expo, which becomes one of Taekwondo.

The opening ceremony of the 12th World Taekwondo Culture Expo (Cairman Choi Dong-cheol) was held at Muju National Taekwondo T1 stadium of Jeollabuk-do on the 14th.

The opening ceremony was attended by a total of 3,600 athletes from domestic and 32 countries around the world, about 140 volunteers, including representatives from the governor of Jeollabuk-do Mr. Kim Song Il, of the World Taekwondo Culture Expo, Chairman of the Taekwondo Promotion Foundation,

Mr. Kim Song Il, the governor said, "The 2017 Muju WTF World Taekwondo Championships have been the most successful of the previous championships, confirming the competitiveness of Taekwondo, as well as promoting the status and the Republic of Korea as a global sport. Everyone will have a valuable time in communication and harmony at this World Taekwondo Cultural Expo. "

Hwang In-hong Muju-gun said, "2017 Muju WTF World Taekwondo Championships Starting from inter-Korean Taekwondo exchanges, we hope the reconciliation between South Korea and the world will be peaceful with this World Taekwondo Culture Expo. Take the energy of Taekwondo sanctuary as whole body, I want you to feel the consolation that nature gives. "

Prior to the opening ceremony, a rope-jumping demonstration team of Korea Jumping Rope association in Jeonbuk Province and Taekwondo Demonstration Team of Jeollabuk-do Taekwondo Association was exhibited at the event before dinner, and responded with applause.

For the congratulatory event, there was a performance of the K-Tigers, the world's largest Taekwondo performance company, which was established in 1990 and developed the Taekwondo performance content for the first. The K-Tigers has more than 2,000 Taekwondo performances in more than 200 cities around the world, and has demonstrated its competent and spectacular Taekwondo performances, drawing the enthusiastic talents of the EXPO participants.

The expo participants had a close connection to each other through the ceremony and congratulatory performances, which were prepared for carry on the opening ceremony. In addition, the opening ceremony was magnificently finished with performances of fireworks performance and fireworks, which were displayed in the sky and ground. 

On the morning of the 14th opening ceremony, Taekwon dance contest and demonstration contest were held. The Taekwon dance contest was divided into two groups, one was a youth group and the other was a general group. The Taekwondo performance contest was divided into a youth group, a general group, and a silver group. Participants showed Taekwondo performance and performance with a certain degree of artistry. Particularly, the silver contest attracted participants aged 62 or older and showed their passion for Taekwondo.

On the other hand, there will also be a "stamp tour" to accomplish the mission by designating 13 experiential courses within the Muju Taekwondo-won between the dates of 14th and 15th. The Stamp Tour is an event where everyone can participate, as well as volunteers and general participants, as well as overseas athletes participating in the Expo. This event includes Taekwondo experience (basic physical fitness test, breaking experience) and folk play (윷놀이, 제기차기, 투호) and composed of 13 programs. Participants can receive souvenirs for those who have successfully completed more than 10 missions and are stamped on the mission paper.

제 12회 세계태권도문화엑스포(위원장 최동열) 개회식이 14일 전라북도 무주 국립 태권도원 T1 경기장에서 개최됐다.

이날 개회식에는 김송일 전라북도 행정부지사, 황인홍 무주군수, 세계태권도문화엑스포 조직위원회 최동열 조직위원장, 이상욱 태권도진흥재단 이사장, 유송열 무주군의회 의장, 송성환 전라북도의회 의장을 비롯한 주요 내빈들과 전 세계 32개국 3,600명의 국내외 참가선수단, 140명의 자원봉사자 등 많은 인원이 참석해 자리를 빛냈다.

김송일 행정부지사는 “2017 무주 WTF 세계태권도선수권대회를 역대 선수권대회 중에서 가장 성공적으로 개최한 계기로 태권도의 경쟁력을 확인함과 동시에 종주국 대한민국의 위상과 브랜드를 알리며 세계적인 스포츠로 성장하고 있다.”며 “지구촌 태권도 가족 여러분 모두가 이번 세계태권도문화엑스포에서 소통과 화합을 다지는 소중한 시간을 가졌으면 바란다.“고 말했다.

황인홍 무주군수는 “2017 무주 WTF 세계태권도선수권대회 남북 태권도 교류를 시작으로 남북화해와 세계평화의 훈풍이 이번 세계태권도문화엑스포에도 불길 바란다”며 “무주에 머무는 동안 태권도 성지의 기운을 온몸으로 받으며, 자연이 주는 위안을 느끼길 바란다”고 말했다.

개회식 공식행사에 앞서 전북한국줄넘기협회 시범단의 줄넘기 시범과 전라북도태권도협회 시범단의 태권도시범 등의 식전행사가 진행되어 관중의 시선을 사로잡았고, 이에 관중들은 뜨거운 박수갈채로 화답했다.

축하공연으로는 1990년 창단되어 태권도 분야 최초로 공연 콘텐츠를 개발한 세계 최대 규모의 태권도 공연단인 ‘K-타이거즈’의 공연이 진행됐다. K-타이거즈는 전 세계 200여 도시 이상에서 2,000회 이상의 태권도 공연 경력을 보유한 만큼 능숙하고 현란한 태권도 공연을 선보여 엑스포 참가자들의 열띤 함성을 끌어냈다.

개회식의 열기를 이어가기 위해 준비된 어울림 마당과 축하공연을 통해 엑스포 참가자들 서로가 한층 더 가까워지는 시간을 가졌다. 또한, 하늘과 땅에 화려하게 수놓을 낙화놀이 공연과 불꽃놀이로 개회식을 성대하게 마무리했다.

개회식이 열린 14일 오전에는 태권댄스경연대회와 시범경연대회가 개최됐다. 태권댄스경연대회는 청소년부와 일반부로 나뉘어 경합이 벌어졌으며, 시범경연대회에서는 청소년부, 일반부, 실버부로 나뉘어 진행됐다. 참가자들은 예술성을 가미한 절도 있는 태권도 동작과 멋진 퍼포먼스를 보여주었으며, 특히 실버부 경연대회는 만 62세 이상의 고령의 참가자들이 참여해 노익장을 과시하며 태권도에 대한 열정을 가감 없이 보여줬다.

한편, 14일부터 15일 양일간 무주 태권도원 내에 13개의 체험코스를 지정하여 미션을 달성하는 ‘스탬프 투어’도 실시한다. 스탬프 투어는 엑스포에 참가하는 해외 선수단 외에도 자원봉사자와 일반 참가자 구분 없이 누구나 참여할 수 있는 행사이며, 태권도와 관련된 체험(기초체력 테스트, 격파 체험 등)과 민속놀이(윷놀이, 제기차기, 투호 등)를 포함하여 13개 프로그램으로 구성된다. 미션 10개 이상 성공하여 미션 용지에 도장을 받은 참가자에게는 기념품을 받을 수 있다.
