Kimunyong Sport Committee(KUYSC) establishes further branches in Jiangsu Province and Fujian Province, China

Beijing, Shandong province, Liaoning province, followed by Jiangsu province, Fujian province, five branches extended to China alone

Kimunyong Sport Committee has established new overseas branches in Jiangsu province and Fujian province in China. This extends to five branches in China alone.

KUYSC established its 10th overseas branch in Fujian province on 2nd June, holding the signing ceremony at the Holiday Inn Hotel, followed by the 11th overseas branch in Jiangsu Province on 4th June, with the signing ceremony held at the Fuzhou Fliport Garden Hotel.

Gao Ming, the Jiangsu province branch chief and a former national taekwondo athlete representing China, said, "I am honored to establish the Jiangsu province branch of the KUYSC. Taekwondo is spreading rapidly in China. We will work to promote taekwondo and the achievements of Dr. Kim Un-Yong in China. We will hold a Kimunyong Open Taekwondo Competition in Nanjing in October."

Gao Xiong, the Fujian province branch chief said, "I am grateful to the KUYSC for the training of Taekwondo leaders in Fujian province while simultaneously establishing the Fujian province branch. We will do my best to uphold the achievements and legacy of the late Dr. Kim Un-Yong. Together with the KUYSC, we will pioneer the Chinese taekwondo market. We will also hold a two-day Kimunyong Open Taekwondo Competition in Fujian province, China, from August 10th to 11th.”

KUYSC Secretary-General Seo Hyun-suk said, “We are delighted to establish additional branches in China. By establishing branches in Beijing and the Shandong, Liaoning, Jiangsu and Fujian provinces, we hope to contribute to the development of taekwondo in China more actively and to aspire towards a better world," he said.

The 2019 Kimunyong Cup International Open Taekwondo Competition (G1), a WT (World Taekwondo Federation) approved competition, will be held at Jangchung Gymnasium in Seoul from July 12th to 17th.

사단법인 김운용스포츠위원회(위원장 김혜원, 이하 ‘위원회’)는 해외지부 10호 강소성지부, 11호 복건성지부를 연이어 설립하였다. 강소성지부는 지난 6월2일 홀리데인 호텔에서 복건성지부는 4일 오후 1시 푸저우 필리포트 가든호텔에서 지부관계자들, 푸저우태권도협회 관계자들과 태권도사범들이 참석한 가운데 이루어졌다.

강소성 지부장을 맡은 고명(高鸣, GAO MING)지부장은 “강소성지부를 설립하게 되어 영광으로 생각하며, 태권도가 중국내에서도 빠르게 확산되고 있다. 중국 태권도발전과 김운용 총재님의 업적 또한 중국에 전파하겠다”고 말하고 “10월에 남경(南京)에서 김운용오픈태권도대회를 개최하겠다”고 밝혔다. 고명지부장은 중국 태권도 국가대표 출신이다.

복건성 지부장을 맡은 고웅(高雄, GAO XIONG)지부장은 “지부 설립과 동시에 복건성 태권도 지도자 교육을 하게 되어 위원회에 진심으로 감사하게 생각한다. 고(故) 김운용총재님의 뜻을 되새기며, 그 뜻에 어긋나지 않도록 최선을 다할 것이고, 위원회와 함께 중국 태권도 시장을 개척할 것이다”라고 말했다. 그리고 “8월10일~11일에 중국 복건성김운용오픈태권도대회를 이틀간 개최한다”고 밝혔다.

위원회 서현석 사무총장은 “연이어 중국에 지부설립을 하게 되어 기쁘게 생각하며, 중국내에 북경, 산둥성, 요녕성, 강소성, 복건성지부를 설립함으로서 중국지부 확장에 한발 더 나아갈 수 있도록 최선의 노력을 다하겠다”고 말하고“더 넓은 세계를 향하여 더 큰 꿈을 키워가겠다”고 밝혔다.

한편, WT(세계태권도연맹) 승인대회인 2019김운용컵국제오픈태권도대회(G1)는 7월 12일부터 17일까지 서울 장충체육관에서 개최된다.
