Arranged Permanent Examination Hall for 2,500 Taekwondo Schools at Training Institute’s 3rd Floor for Convenience in Examination, Distributes Coronavirus Prevention Poster on Taekwondo Schools
Gyeong Gi-Do Taekwondo Association Poom Test
Gyeong Gi-Do Taekwondo Association is taking active measures to solve difficulties of associations and Taekwondo schools in preventing novel coronavirus and training.
As one of the measures, Gyeong Gi-Do Taekwondo Association made wall posters on coronavirus prevention and distributed to 2,500 Taekwondo schools. The association also arranged a permanent examination place at Training Institute located on GTA building’s 3rd floor to allow Taekwondo schools to have Poom test from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM on weekdays (From Monday to Friday). For schools that cannot have Poom test on weekdays, the Association arranged Poom test for night time and any time on Sunday.
President Kim said “The whole country is concerned about novel coronavirus. If Taekwondo schools close and cancel Taekwondo Poom tests, it may put Taekwondo in tough situation. We will be safe from novel coronavirus by carrying out thorough safety measures such as wearing mask and using hand sanitizer when entering the place”.
President Kim also pointed out the importance of taking serious measures. He said that “When trainers don’t take Poom test at the right time, it is likely to damage on trainers and bright huge damage on other association”. He also mentioned that “Especially, when trainers quit the schools for novel coronavirus, it is obvious that Taekwondo schools won’t be able to recover trainers. Therefore, the urgent task is to reduce number of absentees and create an environment for training continuously”.
In Namyangjusi Taekwondo Association’s Poom Test held on February 1st and Uijeongbu Association’s Poom Test held on February 8, heat sensor was installed on the entrance of examination hall. Also, applicants and parents could enter the hall and Poomsae and Kyorugi Test were held after wearing masks.
Especially, hand sanitizers were arranged on the entrance and all participants cleaned their hands. During the test, the intervals between applicants were set to 1m 20cm.
In Kyorugi Test, the time was shortened from 30 seconds to 20 seconds and applicants didn’t share headgear. Also, the host was ordered to take thorough measures for safety management and crisis management system was taken as the active measure for war against coronavirus.

경기도태권도협회(회장 김경덕)는 신종 코로나 바이러스 폐렴에 대한 예방법과 수련 대처에 대해 시군 협회 및 일선 도장의 어려움을 타개하기 위해 발벗고 나섰다.
경기도협회는 그 방편으로 코로나 바이러스 예방용 벽걸이 포스터를 제작해 2500개 회원 도장에 배포하고 GTA 건물 3층 연수원에 상설 심사장을 마련해 일선 도장들이 도장별로 평일(월요일부터 금요일까지) 오전 9시부터 오후 6시까지 승품단 심사를 볼 수 있도록 하고 평일에 나오지 못하는 도장은 야간 및 일요일에 원하는 시간대에 심사를 볼 수 있도록 최대한 편의를 재공 하기로 하였다.
김경덕 회장은 "온 나라가 떠들썩한 가운데 태권도 마저 우려를 나타내며 쉬는 도장과 심사대회 등 행사를 취소한 것은 이번 일로 인해 태권도가 상당히 어려워질 수 있다"며 "철저한 안전대책 즉 모두가 마스크 쓰고 출입 시 손세척제를 사용한다면 안전하다."고 강조했다.
김 회장은 또 "승품단 심사는 적기에 보지 않으면 수련자 본인도 손해를 볼뿐만 아니라 태권도장이나 시군 협회가 큰 피해를 입을 확률이 크다."며 심각하게 대처해야 될 것이라고 지적하고, "특히 태권도장의 경우 이번 사태를 계기로 수련생들이 줄기 시작하면 복구하기가 힘들 것이 뻔하기에 결석자 수를 줄이고 계속 수련할 수 있는 환경 조성이 급선무"라고 언급했다.
이와 연관하여 지난 1일 있었던 남양주시태권도협회 승품단 심사와 8일 의정부시협회가 승품단 심사때 심사장 출입구에 열감지기 설치하여 응심생과 학부모 모두 마스크 쓰야 출입을 허용했고, 품새와 겨루기 심사 시에도 마스크를 쓰도록 했다.
특히 출입구에 손소독제를 준비하여 참석자 모두가 손 세척을 하였고, 심사 시에는 응심자 간의 간격을 1m 20cm로 설정하여 심사를 진행했다.
겨루기 심사에서도 시간을 평소 30초에서 20초로 단축하고 공동으로 사용하는 헤드기어를 쓰지 않도록 하였으며 진행자로 하여금 안전에 대한 관리를 철저히 하도록 지침을 내리고 향후 코로나 바이러스와의 전쟁을 적극적인 방법으로 대처하는 위기관리 시스템을 발동했다.
