내년 1월 14일 ‘USA Dream TKD Open 2025’ 개최한다.
2000부터 AMA 대회서 부터 2005년에는 LA 세리프컵 경찰국 태권도 대회와 2007년 디즈니 마샬아트 챔피온쉽 태권도 대회 그리고 또다시 USA Dream Open으로 시작된 이번 대회를 개최한다.
실리콘밸리 태권도협회장인 최창익 사범(국기원 9단)의 주도로 개최하는 이번 대회는 참가선수 약 700명, 심판 운영위원들을 포함하여 총 약2,500명이 참가가 예상되며 대회 입상자는 한국에서 열리는 전국체육대회에 미국 대표로 출전하는 자격이 생긴다.
여기에 남녀 각각 품새 우수선수 4명 와 겨루기 우수선수에게 $5.000달러의 장학금과 팀데모 우승팀 등에게 $1.500달러가 상금으로 수여한다. 이 대회는 겨루기 품새 뿐이 아닌 격파 부문과 트럼폴린 점핑킥 등을 통해 다양한 볼거리와 다관왕의 기회를 줌으로서 전반적인 태권도의 모든 부문을 다루는 세계 태권도 한마당의 경기 방식에 겨루기까지 할 수 있는 최대 태권도 축제의 장이다.
개회식에는 지역사회의 글로벌 리더들인 경찰국장과 시장, 상공회 회장 등 많은 지도자들이 자리를 빛내 주기로 했고 최재춘 태권도 유네스코 인류무형문화유산 등재추진단장과 샌프란시스코 민주평화통일 자문위원들, UN피스고 부의장 등이 참석한다.

It is an honor and privilege to invite all of you to the USA DREAM OPEN 2025(January 25th) kick off the year Championship Taekwondo Hanmadang Festival. Thank you for all the support in making the previous USA Dream Open 2019 a greater success. We are committed to making this new year’s festival even bigger, better and greater we hope you have a chance to explore the beautiful and historical Silicon Valley, City of San Jose, and join us at our festival hold on new year Jan. 25th 2025.
We hope to provide your students with an opportunity not only to improve their skills but to further improve themselves in other aspects of their lives as well. Through this the festival, we also hope to provide Masters an opportunity to network and strengthen relationships with other Taekwondo associated colleagues.
